4. Postdoctoral Job

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The fellow will work in the PreTeXt-Runestone: Open Textbooks Engaging Undergraduates in STEM [PROTEUS] project. The PROTEUS Project seeks to understand two interrelated questions: How do groups of textbook users (students, teachers, authors, and researchers) work together to write interactive questions designed to elicit multiple ways of students? thinking in classrooms? and How do students and instructors use those interactive textbook questions in classrooms? We focus on open-source PreTeXt textbooks hosted in the learning analytics platform, Runestone Academy. We address the need to promote student learning through continued engagement with the material they are learning and to provide tools for teachers to engage with the information gathered using those questions not only their responses but the various attempts to answer the questions.

8. Postdoctoral Job

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Castro/Lowenstein Laboratory within the Department of Neurosurgery is accepting applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellowship position funded by NIH. The successful candidate will join an exciting and productive research team focused on elucidating the molecular and physical basis of brain tumor growth, invasion and the response to novel therapeutics. The project will study the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in the epigenetic remodeling of the tumor immune microenvironment and how this impacts tumor progression and the response to immune mediated therapies. The project will also investigate the mechanisms that mediate genomic instability, chromatin structure and the DNA repair machinery in genetically engineered brain cancer models and samples from human patients, with the aim of uncovering novel therapeutic targets that can be readily translated into the clinical arena.

9. Postdoctoral Job

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The laboratory of Dr. Sethu Pitchiaya at the University of Michigan seeks to hire an enthusiastic Postdoctoral fellow. The prospective candidate will work on exciting projects that are aimed at understanding mammalian stress response mechanisms, investigating how these mechanisms are misappropriated by cancer and identifying potential paths for translating these findings for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. To address these pressing questions in physiology and cancer biology, we probe a variety of in vitro systems, in vivo models and mammalian tissues using an arsenal of contemporary technologies, including super-resolution imaging, single-cell sequencing, and spatial omics.
