Alabama Student Grant Program Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for an Alabama Student Grant Program award the student must:

  • Have obtained a certificate of graduation from a secondary school or the recognized equivalence of such graduation;
  • Be classified as an undergraduate student;
  • Be an Alabama resident as defined in Alabama Student Grant Program Act 90;
  • Be a citizen of the United States or in the process of becoming a citizen of the United States;
  • Be enrolled as a full-time or half-time student in an eligible program in an approved institution;
  • Be making satisfactory academic progress; and,
  • Not be enrolled and not intend to enroll in a course of study leading to an undergraduate degree in theology, divinity, or other field of preparation for a religious vocation.

4. You must not have previously received an RTP Fee Scholarship, unless the previous scholarship was for a Master of Science by Research degree that you have completed and are now applying for a doctorate research degree.

5. Not have a research qualification considered equivalent to an Australian Research Doctorate degree, or, if pursuing a Research Master’s degree, not have a research qualification considered equivalent to or higher than an Australian Research Master’s degree.

6. Not have applied for the scholarship more than three times in the last five years.

7. Not be receiving a scholarship for which course tuition is a component under any other scholarship scheme to which the Australian Government contributes significantly.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Admissions to IMD MBA program: Candidates must apply and be accepted into the IMD MBA program to be considered for most of the scholarships.
  • Academic excellence: Candidates should have a strong academic background, typically with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • GMAT/GRE: The typical GMAT score in the class is around 680. While your unique experience and achievements can help compensate for a lower score, we recommend that you aim for a score of at least 630. (for an equivalent GRE score, see the GRE Comparison Tool). Please make sure that IMD is listed as the recipient of your score.
  • TOEFL/IELTS: English is used throughout the program. If English is not your native language and you have never studied in English before, you must submit a TOEFL or IELTs score. There are no prerequisites. We recommend a TOEFL (IBT) score of 105 or an IELTS score of 7.5.
  • Professional achievement: Candidates should have a minimum of three years of work experience and demonstrate leadership potential and professional achievements in their field.
  • Financial need: Some scholarships take into account the candidate’s financial need, which may be demonstrated through income level or other financial circumstances.

Can I apply even if I have not received my degree yet?

Yes, of course. However, you must hold a university degree before starting your thesis work.

Is there an age limit?

We do not have an age limit. For your reference, most of our first-year students are around 25 years old.

Can you tell me what are my chances of being accepted?

Our eligibility requirements tell you whether your application stands a chance to proceed in the evaluation process. Once you passed the Admission Committee, you will be in principle eligible for our program. After that, your chances depend mostly on finding a research group that wishes to host you as a PhD student, and that you wish to join.

Do I need to provide TOEFL or IELTS results?

No, TOEFL or IELTS results are not required. However, we recommend uploading English proficiency test results to your application if available, as a high level of English language proficiency is required.

Do I need to provide GRE results?

Taking the GRE examination is not required. If you have taken this test, feel free to include the results in the uploads section of your application, though.

How much does the program cost?

There are no tuition fees for this program. In fact, PhD Students are compensated with an attractive salary throughout the duration of training. About Humber International Entrance Scholarships
