2. PhD-position (4 years) At the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Biomedicine

Summary of Doctoral Project:

Glioblastoma is the most malignant primary brain cancer, where no effective treatments are currently available. The focus of the project is to develop novel small peptide molecules that inhibit the function of Chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan 4 (CSPG4), an important biomarker for aggressive disease course in brain cancer patients using integrative structure-based drug discovery and computational approaches. As a foundation for drug discovery, the structure of CSPG4 will be determined using cryo electron microscopy. Based on the obtained structure, small molecule or peptide ligands will be designed.

3. PhD Research Fellow in Experimental Reservoir Physics

Summary of Doctoral Project:

The position is part of the Center of Sustainable Subsurface Resources (CSSR). The main ambition for CSSR is to provide the knowledge required for the low carbon transition the Norwegian petroleum industry foresee for the next decade. A key point is the impact of increased electrification and how operations will be impacted by the intermittency associated with renewable energy supply and fluctuating electricity prices. A new energy system necessitates new knowledge of physical processes. This project will emphasize reservoir flow and short-term energy storage concepts, using energy carriers such as hydrogen.
