Are you holding Master’s degree and looking for PhD positions – Fully Funded PhD Programs in Europe? Stockholm University, Sweden inviting application for funded PhD Programs or fully funded PhD Scholarship. Stockholm University is one of the largest university in the world with thousands of employees, students, and research scientists are involved in the innovation of science and technology daily.

Stockholm University has huge a campus in Sweden and widely known as for its contribution in top notch education and research. The contribution of Stockholm University is not only limited to natural sciences and engineering but it also offers high quality research as well as higher education in bio-medical sciences, social sciences, humanities, psychology, education, architecture etc.

We are looking for a PhD student with a keen interest in field-based Structural Geology, with an emphasis on quantifying deformation processes. In addition, knowledge and expertise in Geochronology is desirable; a background in Metamorphic Petrology is an asset. The Structural Geology and Tectonics group at Stockholm University has ongoing field projects in the Swedish Caledonides, the Swiss-Italian Alps, the Aegean Sea region in the eastern Mediterranean and the Arabian convergent margin in Oman. Depending on qualification, funding, and to some degree personal preference, the successful candidate is expected to contribute to one or more of these field projects. The successful candidate will work in a scientifically productive environment comprised of structural geologists, metamorphic geologists, geochronologists among others. The PhD project is financed by the Department of Geological Sciences of Stockholm University.

Last Application Date: 31 July 2022

View Details & Apply

In order to meet the general entry requirements, the applicant must have completed a second-cycle degree, completed courses equivalent to at least 240 higher education credits, of which 60 credits must be in the second cycle, or have otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge in Sweden or elsewhere. In order to meet the specific entry requirements, for doctoral studies in Criminology you need a Bachelor´s degree (preferably in Criminology or other social sciences) and at least 60 ECTS credits at advanced level (a part of those should include a thesis). In the syllabus for doctoral studies in Criminology you will find the requirements described in detail. The primary assessment criteria in appointing a doctoral student should be the capacity to benefit from the training.east 60 ECTS credits at advanced level (a part of those should include a thesis). Therefore, assessments are scattered in what have been called “regulatory silos”. Concerns about inconsistencies and inefficiency have been raised and a political move towards a more coordinated approach has recently started called “one substance-one assessment” The overall aim of this project is to develop and apply methods that can help analyse how to improve the regulatory process for hazardous chemicals within the EU, towards the aim of “one substance – one assessment”. The work will include qualitative literature analysis, scrutinizing and examining legal documents and guidance published by the European Chemicals Agency and the European Commission, environmental data submitted by the chemical industry, and chemical assessments performed by scientific committees. It may also involve interviews with relevant experts.

Last Application Date: 27 July 2022

View Details & Apply

The PhD project will be immersed in strong and long-standing research on the interlinkages between air pollution and climate change in South Asia. The department offers well-equipped analytical facilities for addressing these questions with advanced molecular, isotopic and optical measurement techniques. We have a large international collaborative network and great access to strategic and well-equipped atmospheric receptor observatories in India, Bangladesh and the Maldives. Atmospheric particles such as combustion-derived black carbon (BC, soot), organic carbon (OC), sulphate and dust play central roles in climate change and air pollution, yet are poorly characterized. To reduce overall uncertainties, the PhD project will seek observation-based constraints on both the sources and composition-related optical properties of carbonaceous and other aerosol components. These observational studies can favorably be combined with modeling.

Last Application Date: 5 August 2022

View Details & Apply

The position will be associated with the Marie Curie International Training Network CLOUD-DOC that focuses on utilizing the CLOUD facility in CERN for collecting laboratory data on aerosol and cloud microphysics. The data will be utilized to develop and evaluate models simulating atmospheric processes and addressing questions related to climate evolution and air quality. The PhD position focuses on understanding atmospheric nucleation, which is an important source of aerosol particles in the atmosphere. These particles can influence cloud microphysics through acting as seeds for cloud droplets. Clouds, in turn, can influence atmospheric chemistry particle formation processes through e.g. their role in transporting trace gases from the Earth’s surface to the upper troposphere or influencing the atmospheric radiative balance. The PhD project will be focused either on experimental or on numerical modelling , and the exact direction will depend on the interests and background of the successful candidate.

Last Application Date: 31 August 2022

View Details & Apply

Are you holding Master’s degree and looking for PhD positions – Fully Funded PhD Programs in Europe?
