Picknelly Honorary Scholarship<\/span><\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">The Peter L. Picknelly Honorary Scholarship is open to ABA Members. This fund was established to recognize the contribution of bus drivers, mechanics and maintenance personnel to the motorcoach industry.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; color: #003366;\">Scholarship Qualifications<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">This fund recognizes the contribution of bus drivers, mechanics, and maintenance personnel to the motorcoach industry. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">You must be a bus driver, mechanic, or maintenance personnel of ABA Operator Members or their dependents (as of February 1, 2020).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\"> You must be a freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student studying or planning to study at a technical school, trade school or in a transportation-related program.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">You must maintain a minimum GPA of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #008000; font-size: 18pt;\">Looking For More Undergraduate Scholarships?<span style=\"color: #003366;\"> <a style=\"color: #003366;\" href=\"https:\/\/notesbard.com\/undergraduate-scholarships\/\">Click here<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; color: #003366;\">Terms of Scholarship\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">For all scholarships, recipients must enroll as full-time undergraduates in the fall of the year in which the scholarships are awarded. The scholarships will be applied to educational expenses at any accredited, nonprofit college or university in the United States or Canada, or at a school that offers programs related to the travel or tourism industry. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">A student may transfer from one college to another and retain the award. There is a new competition for these awards each year. Scholarship winners may reapply each year if the employee or the student&#8217;s parents continue to be employed by ABA members. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">Winning a scholarship one year does not necessarily ensure that the recipient will win the following year, but preference is given to past winners.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; color: #003366;\">Selection Process\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">Evaluators select winners based on their academic merit, extracurricular activities, and anticipated financial need. All applicants are notified of the competition results in June. An impartial selection committee of educators is responsible for ranking and choosing the winners.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; color: #003366;\">Award of Scholarship\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">Winners are announced via online and printed publication and press release in June or July of the application year. Scholarship winners will receive formal acceptance packets that include marketing release forms and guidelines for funds distribution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\"> Checks are be mailed to each recipient&#8217;s home address and are be made payable to the college or university only. Checks are be issued in August and December. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">Recipients must enroll as full-time undergraduates in the fall of the year in which the scholarships are awarded and continue in school for the entire academic year without interruption, barring illness, emergency, or military service.
