1. Fully Funded PhD Position in intelligent control

Summary of PhD Program:

ICEMAN project pioneers sustainable manufacturing by exploring connections between manufacturing heat signatures and surface integrity. In the context of the industry’s substantial contribution to global CO2 emissions, ICEMAN aims to optimize productivity, environmental impact, and product lifecycle. Our prior work in heatmetry and surface characterization suggests that manufacturing heat signatures correlate with process performance and surface integrity. Objectives include developing a high-speed heat flux sensor tool and an AI-based real-time control system. ICEMAN innovatively employs Heat Flux Sensors for precise, instantaneous in-situ measurements.

5. Fully Funded PhD Position in Health Technology

Summary of PhD Program:

The positions are in the STIMULUS project (Speckle Technology and Digital Biomarkers of Microvascular Function for Monitoring Cardiovascular Diseases), funded by a European Innovation Council Pathfinder grant. In this project, we develop new instruments for assessing adverse changes in microcirculatory status linked to hypertension, chronic kidney disease and heart failure, leading to earlier detection of cardiovascular diseases (over 60 million people in the EU suffer from them). The instruments are developed and validated in clinical trials. We integrate two state-of-the-art technologies leading to a novel innovation, 3D speckle tissue monitoring.
