Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The Center for Inter-American Policy and Research (CIPR) invites applications for five (5) research fellowships for the Academic Year of 2023-2024, some with program administration duties and others with light teaching. Applications from the social sciences in the fields of international relations, international political economy, comparative politics, political sociology, and policy studies are encouraged. Latin American expertise and Spanish or Portuguese fluency required. Fellows will be selected based on intellectual merit, experience, the potential impact of their planned research for CIPR programs, and teaching needs of the host department. Fellowships are one-year, residential, full-time appointments with a stipend of $48,940 plus benefits. Travel and moving expenses are not supported. In addition to their planned research, applicants must be prepared to carry out either program administration or adjunct teaching responsibilities.

The Tulane School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine is seeking applications for a postdoctoral fellowship focusing on health equity. The postdoctoral fellow will be supervised by Dean Thomas LaVeist. The postdoc will join the Tulane Institute for Innovations in Health Equity – which is directed by Dean LaVeist – and will work closely with him to develop research initiatives in that topic area. The fellowship is for a year and may be renewed yearly after the annual review. The successful candidate will have been trained in quantitative research methods including data collection, survey research, and data analysis. Good manuscript writing skills are essential. A postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately in a well-funded laboratory to study the role of microbiome on development of progression of enterohepatic disease. One or two postdoctoral positions are available in the Mathematics Department of Tulane University to help create a new research group in integrability, and to take part in a multi-university, international research collaborative. The research team strives to discover nonlinear phenomena along with their complete and mathematically precise explanations. Recent results include the detailed asymptotic description of the actual oscillations of a soliton interacting with a gas of solitons (establishing for the first time the rigorous validity of a kinetic theory of solitons) and the first explanation of the soliton resolution conjecture. The successful candidate should have demonstrated productivity in related fields and have the talent and dedication to take advantage of the vast resources available at Tulane University.
