The PhD student will work on the project “Stratification of cancer patients for ultrasound-mediated chemotherapy” funded by the The Central Norway Regional Health Authority. Ultrasound focused on tumours in combination with microbubbles injected in the blood is reported to improve the uptake of drugs in tumours and improve the therapeutic response. In models of complex and large-scale physical systems, the number of variables in the mathematical description of the system might be overly large, thereby requiring a large computational budget for performing simulations and sensitivity analysis of key system performance indicators.
