Dr. Liu-Smith’s laboratory is focused on studying human skin cancer, especially melanoma, in areas of oncogenesis, prevention and treatment. Current study has two areas: 1) hormonal impact on normal human melanocytes upon UV radiation; 2) BRAF oncogene regulation by small nature compounds. The postdoctoral will be responsible for executing bench work of molecular cellular studies to understand the etiology and drug responses of normal or cancer cells. The postdoctoral fellow will be encouraged to develop new ideas that promote current research, such as new directions to understand the above-mentioned research focus.
