The Sarantopoulos Lab is seeking a B-cell enthusiast. We are using primary patient samples and mouse models to understand the role of B cells in anti-leukemia/tumor responses. For over a decade, the lab has studied B cell fate, function and dysfunction after allogeneic stem cell transplantation (SCT). Our studies also aim to identify potential anti-tumor B cell activity in patients who have undergone SCT. We previously identified potential pathological roles for B Cell Receptor (BCR)-activated B cells in chronic GVDH that have led to clinical trials and we now strive to understand anti-tumor B cell responses.

The lab of Tammara Watts, MD, PhD has an immediate position for a postdoctoral research scientist. The primary focus of the Watts lab is understanding the bi-directional signaling between tumor microenvironment mesenchymal stromal cells, cancer associated fibroblasts and tumor epithelial cells that mediate chemoradiation resistance. We work with invasive human neural recordings from a range of functional surgery patients (e.g. epilepsy, DBS, tumors) both in the monitoring unit using SEEG and ECoG and in the operating room where we use high density/high channel-count micro-ECoG arrays (up to 1000 channels, ~ 1 mm spacing) in collaboration with other labs.
