1. Postdoctoral Job

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Sarantopoulos Lab is seeking a B-cell enthusiast. We are using primary patient samples and mouse models to understand the role of B cells in anti-leukemia/tumor responses. For over a decade, the lab has studied B cell fate, function and dysfunction after allogeneic stem cell transplantation (SCT). Our studies also aim to identify potential anti-tumor B cell activity in patients who have undergone SCT. We previously identified potential pathological roles for B Cell Receptor (BCR)-activated B cells in chronic GVDH that have led to clinical trials and we now strive to understand anti-tumor B cell responses.

2. Postdoctoral Job

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The lab of Tammara Watts, MD, PhD has an immediate position for a postdoctoral research scientist. The primary focus of the Watts lab is understanding the bi-directional signaling between tumor microenvironment mesenchymal stromal cells, cancer associated fibroblasts and tumor epithelial cells that mediate chemoradiation resistance. In addition, we have recently been awared NIH R01 funding within the cancer disparities space seeking to undertand the biologic basis for racial disparities in HPV-mediated oropharynx cancer. Preference will be given to highly self-motivated individuals interested, early in their post-doctoral training with an interest in career advancement and academic growth opportunities.

4. Postdoctoral Job

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

Research in the lab focuses on understanding the neural mechanisms that support and enable speech and developing neural speech protheses to restore neurological function. We work with invasive human neural recordings from a range of functional surgery patients (e.g. epilepsy, DBS, tumors) both in the monitoring unit using SEEG and ECoG and in the operating room where we use high density/high channel-count micro-ECoG arrays (up to 1000 channels, ~ 1 mm spacing) in collaboration with other labs.

5. Postdoctoral Job

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

A postdoctoral Associate position is available in the Dou lab at Duke University in the Department of Integrative Immunobiology. The Dou Lab is a newly established laboratory studying the genetic pathways and mechanisms underlying autoimmunity from a lncRNA and epigenetic gene regulation perspective. We utilize biochemical assays, tissue culture, mouse transplantation & disease modeling experiments, FACS/flow cytometry, and single cell multiomics among other assays to resolve the role of lncRNAs, such as Xist, in establishing, maintaining, and disrupting immune tolerance.

6. Postdoctoral Job

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The candidate will have opportunity to develop innovative statistical methods in clinical trial design and variable selection methods in high dimensional data that will predict clinical outcomes and meta-analyses. The successful candidate will collaborate with investigators within and outside Duke University. The objectives of the projects are: to identify and validate surrogate endpoints of overall survival using data from cancer clinical trials in patients with cancer; to identify and validate predictive biomarkers of clinical outcomes in cancer; and perform meta- analyses using the Bayesian framework.

7. Postdoctoral Job

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available within the Cancer Cell Initiation and Cell Behavior Laboratory (CCICB, Department of Surgery/Duke University)and the Center for Applied Therapeutics. Drs. Snyder and Lyerly are leading federally funded projects supporting high impact studies to visualize single cell behavior and cell-cell communication programs during tumorigenesis. Our team utilizes advanced whole organ imaging, scRNAseq, and spatial transcriptomics for reconstructing tumor initiation programs at the single cell level. Recent high-impact work has utilized our novel Cancer rainbow (Crainbow) platform for exploring the earliest phase of tumorigenesis in the colon and the mammary gland (PMIDs: 31792216 and 34131071).
