7. Fully Funded PhD Position in Interaction of GLP-1 and Amylin agonists in the control of eating
Summary of PhD Program:
The massive rise in obesity rates is mainly due to changes in lifestyle, in particular increased caloric intake. Promising emerging therapies rely on the combination of gut hormones and their agonists. To pursue important questions regarding pharmacotherapy using GLP-1 and amylin agonists, we offer an attractive position in a collaborative project with another university in Europe and a US based university. The experimental work of this project will combine in vivo approaches with analyses at the cellular and subcellular level to resolve the mechanisms mediating the actions of GLP-1 and amylin agonists. This project will use a large array of behavioral experiments in rats and mice.
