3. Postdoctoral Job
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
A position exists for a Research Associate in Nanomechanics of Organic Semiconductors. The aim of the role is to understand the mechanical properties of organic semiconductors, characterised jointly using microelectronic devices and an atomic force microscope (AFM). Organic semiconductor devices are known for their deployment in large area flexible electronics. Their mechanical properties on the scale of a few molecules are only starting to be probed. Our team demonstrated high-resolution, nanometre-scale, mechanical measurements on organic semiconductors [I. Dobryden, V. V. Korolkov … D. Venkateshvaran, Nature Communications 13, 3076 (2022)] and have since pushed the limits to measurements on the scale of few molecules.

7. Postdoctoral Job
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated postdoctoral research associate with training and experience evaluating and delivering health behaviour change interventions and an interest in the psychology of obesity and weight management. You will take a lead role in a 5-year multi-disciplinary research programme led by Dr Amy Ahern and funded by an NIHR Programme Grant for Applied Research. This research programme will evaluate an acceptance-based guided self-help intervention to support weight loss maintenance. It builds on a successful feasibility study of the Supporting Weight Management (SWiM) intervention (DOI: 10.2196/31801) and will further refine, adapt and evaluate this intervention to provide evidence needed for implementation within the NHS.

9. Postdoctoral Job
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The tropics harbour more species than anywhere else on Earth. This biodiversity supports a number of ecosystem services¿benefits that humankind derives from the natural environment¿that are essential for human well-being and socioeconomic opportunities. Of particular importance is timber and associated wood products. Yet the overexploitation of timber via selective logging in tropical forests threatens the long-term sustainable flow of this vital resource, the survival of harvested species, and the hyper-diversity of unexploited flora and fauna within logged forests. Our previous work has identified the high conservation value of selectively logged tropical forests but the potential for unsustainable trade, including under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES).

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The textile industry is a major contributor to environmental pollution due to issues like dyes and microplastics, water and energy consumption, and end-of-life waste generation. With 15 international partners, UPWEARS aims to develop a new generation of recyclable biobased e-textiles for smart, multi-functional wearables in sport. The role-holder will contribute to a primary goal of UPWEARS: to use concepts inspired by nature to achieve upgraded performance of technical textiles such as shock absorbance, breathability, and bioluminescence.

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
Macrophages are key players in innate and adaptive immunity as well as tissue homeostasis. We discovered that these terminally differentiated cells can transition between cell cycle states without cell division. This is dependent on the canonical proliferation cascade involving MEK/ERK and leads to deactivation of the retroviral restriction factor SAMHD1. We have exciting new data to show that certain physiological triggers such as low oxygen can drive this cell cycle progression. Coupled with a recent finding that MEK inhibitors can block inflammation from ETS2 overexpression in IBD models of disease, this is now a hot area of research where we are very well placed given our longstanding interests.

13. Postdoctoral Job
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
Given the complex nature of the data from this study, you must have a strong track record in applying sophisticated statistical analyses (e.g., structural equation modelling, testing for measurement invariance), and in drawing culturally appropriate interpretations of the results. More than half of the raw data involves videos or transcripts from Chinese speaking families and so you must also be fluent in Mandarin and/or Cantonese (as well as having excellent spoken and written English).

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The laboratory of Dr Mekayla Storer (https://www.stemcells.cam.ac.uk/people/pi/dr-mekayla-storer) uses multidisciplinary approaches to understand why the distal portion of the digit tip is the only part of the limb that can regenerate in mammals. The key step in this process is the formation of a blastema, a transiently proliferating mass of cells that the regenerates the different cell types of the digit to replicate the original structure. Therefore the broad goal of our research is to understand which cells and molecular pathways are necessary for this process. A portion of our present research builds on our previous work (Storer et al., Dev. Cell 2020) that used high-throughput single-cell mRNA sequencing and Cre-recombinase based lineage tracing to define the transcriptional identity of the mesenchymal cells comprising the blastema and the major transitions during mammalian digit tip regeneration.
