Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to lead a multifaceted project focusing on investigating fundamental mechanisms of human embryo implantation. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of developmental biology and tissue engineering, utilizing innovative technologies. Our research objectives are to elucidate the cellular behavior, invasion, and interactions between the embryo and maternal tissue, to employ single-cell technologies to profile the molecular crosstalk of the implantation niche and to employ gene editing to determine the genetic factors underlying successful implantation. By studying what goes wrong at the embryo-maternal interface, we aim to gain critical insights into the molecular causes underlying implantation failure and early pre-clinical miscarriages.

8. Postdoctoral Job
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
Dr. Jochen Profit’s lab uses transdisciplinary team science to optimize health care delivery for sick neonates and their families. The lab facilitates this goal at the level of the healthcare system as well as at the level of individual care delivery facilities. A key strength of the lab is access to California Perinatal Quality Care Collaborative (CPQCC) resources. The CPQCC coordinates quality improvement activities across the state, via audit and feedback of clinical and operational data and via active quality improvement collaborative programs centered around clinical improvement aims. Nearly all neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) in California are members of the CPQCC. Uniquely, CPQCC data are linked to a variety of data sources, which allow for investigation of maternal health, socio-demographic background, infant inter-hospital transfer, and long-term infant follow up.

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The patterns of fluid migrating through granular media is of fundamental importance for many Earth Science problems including but not limited to hydrocarbon seepage, permafrost destabilization, and volcanic degassing. Observations often suggest that fluids emerge as a distinct, non-dispersed column of fluid. Seepage occurs in spatially distinct areas, indicative of the existence of preferential pathways underneath, but is variable in both time and space. Typically, the seeping fluids share a striking similarity to the hydrocarbons contained within reservoirs directly below the seeps, suggesting a common origin and arduous pathways tothe surface. Our goal is to better understand the processes that govern fluid transport in interconnected networks.
