Are you holding PhD degree and looking for Postdoctoral Fellowships? Radboud University, Netherlands inviting application for multiple Postdoctoral Fellowships.
Radboud University is a public research university located in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. The university bears the name of Saint Radboud, a 9th century Dutch bishop who was known for his intellect and support of the underprivileged.
1. Postdoctoral Researcher for Molecular Mechanisms of Motor Neurodegeneration
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
We are recruiting an ERC-funded postdoctoral researcher who will work independently on mouse genetics projects. One project will investigate the contribution of the skeletal muscle to motor neuron and neuromuscular junction degeneration in ALS associated with mutations in TDP-43, using advanced mouse genetic approaches (conditional transgenic models) in combination with behavioural, electrophysiological, histochemical, imaging and molecular approaches. The latter include single-nucleus RNA sequencing and single molecule FISH, as well as viral gene transfer approaches. In addition, you will have the opportunity to contribute to other ongoing projects at the lab, for example studying the role of the skeletal muscle in ALS-FUS and/or the molecular pathogenesis of CMT associated with mutations in tyrosyl-tRNA synthetase, both projects following up on our recent work (Picchiarelli et al, Nat Neurosci, 2019; Zuko, Mallik et al, Science, 2021).
Last Application Date: 12 October 2022
2. Postdoctoral Researcher for Gas Sensing
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
You will be part of the Life Science Trace Detection Laboratory at Radboud University, where you will work on the H2020 MAX-FRESH project, developing the world’s first automated commercial multi-species trace gas analyser based on mid-infrared absorption spectroscopy. You will be involved in the development of the gas analyser, focusing on the measurement of volatile organic compounds emitted from fruits and vegetables during long-term storage. These compounds are indicators of biochemical processes such as ripening, fermentation, damage, or rotting. Once unfavourable conditions are detected at early stages, the analyser will provide automated alerts to enable timely and effective interventions, allowing reducing storage losses by 50%, extending storage life by 20%, and reducing post-harvest chemical treatments by 50%.

3. Postdoctoral Researcher for Fluorescence Lifetime Microscopy (FLIM) in Brain Slices
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
Are you an enthusiastic scientist with a PhD degree in a biology- or neuroscience-related field? And would you like to figure out how synapses are formed, and how axonal and dendritic signalling is regulated? Then you have a part to play as a postdoctoral researcher. Put your ideas to the test at our leafy green campus and push your boundaries in an internationally friendly environment. We recently demonstrated that the coordination between excitatory and inhibitory synapses is actively maintained within dendrites of CA1 cells. We found that clustered excitatory activity induces dendritic production of endocannabinoids which trigger inhibitory synapse formation via CB1 receptors on the inhibitory axons (Hu, Kruijssen et al., 2019). Axonal CB1 receptors induce presynaptic bouton formation via a rather unconventional signalling pathway which involves an increase in intracellular cAMP levels (Liang et al., 2021).

4. Postdoctoral Researcher in General Relativity and Data Analysis
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher with expertise in general relativity and data analysis. As a postdoctoral researcher you will join the Strong Gravity group of B. Bonga and work on modelling tidal resonances. These resonances were co-discovered by Bonga and are critical to model accurately in extreme mass ratio inspirals (EMRIs) if we want to maximise the scientific output of LISA. You will complement the theoretical expertise in the group by bringing your expertise in (gravitational wave) data analysis. Ideally, you already have some experience with the data analysis tools relevant for LISA.

5. Postdoctoral Researchers for Radboud University Network on Migrant Inclusion (RUNOMI)
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The Radboud University Network on Migrant Inclusion (RUNOMI) was initiated at Radboud University in 2018 to strengthen university-wide, interdisciplinary collaboration in research and teaching as well as collaboration with societal actors. By now, the network connects more than 100 member scientists working at all RU faculties with expertise on migrant inclusion issues. The coming years, the university wishes to further develop this network into a leading international hub of expertise in this field, which is why it has initiated a large-scale staff recruitment initiative entailing 8 FTEs of assistant professors and 4.5 FTEs of postdoctoral fellows at various faculties.

6. Postdoctoral Researcher: Governing the Acceleration of the Transition to Animal-free Safety Assessment
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
You will be part of the transdisciplinary consortium working on the project ‘Accelerating the Transition to Animal-free Next Generation Risk Assessment (NGRA): A Transformative Governance Approach’, funded as part of the Dutch Research Agenda (NWA). The aim of this research project is to contribute to the acceleration of the transition to animal-free safety assessment for chemicals and pharmaceuticals in the EU (including the Netherlands) and the USA. To achieve this aim, it applies a transformative governance approach.
