1. Postdoctoral Job
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The kidney is a central organ in preeclampsia as most women are diagnosed by hypertension and excess proteinuria characterized by glomerular endothelial damage and podocyte loss. Preeclampsia is a multi-organ endothelial disorder of pregnancy and one of the most important direct causes to maternal mortality and morbidity. Kidney disease is rarely reversable, and yet in preeclampsia, can resolve by poorly understood mechanisms. Still, women with previous preeclampsia are at 2-3 times increased risk of chronic kidney disease later in life. In this project we aim to investigate if mechanistic biomarkers for kidney damage (or repair) are increased in plasma in a cohort of women with preeclampsia of different severity at multiple timepoints.

2. Postdoctoral Job
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The candidate will be working in in a collaborative environment that includes researchers at the University of Gothenburg, Lund university and the Sahlgrenska University Hospital. The project will provide good opportunities for further development of research competence in experimental as well as clinical immunology. You will be studying the development of the immune system during childhood, and also how this is influenced by different immune deficiencies. In addition, you will be involved in an ongoing project that studies immune responses against COVID-19 in patients and after vaccination that focuses on how immunological memory triggered by infections with other beta-coronaviruses can influence immune responses against SARS-CoV-2 infection.

3. Postdoctoral Job
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
We are looking for an assistant researcher who will work on a project entitled: ”Smart Port Enforcement: The Prevention of Marine Pollution by Algorithm” The primary task is to analyze the Swedish legal preconditions for deploying unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) in a marine context. UAVs and UUVs are becoming popular monitoring and enforcement tools for protecting the environment and their deployment could strengthen enforcement jurisdiction. The analysis includes legal sources and contact with authorities.

4. Postdoctoral Job
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
As a postdoctoral fellow, you are expected to conduct research in the project On the road again: The rise and decline of itinerant rule, which studies how medieval and early modern rulers governed by travelling around their realms from place to place together with their state apparatuses. The project uses geocoded historical data to analyze 1) what factors decided monarchs’ itineraries, 2) what activities monarchs engaged in on their visits, 3) what factors explain the end of itinerant rule and the emergence of capitals with permanent state administrations, and 4) what consequences monarchs visits had for local political and economic development (up until the present).

5. Postdoctoral Job
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
We seek a researcher who shall contribute to the development, adaptation, and dissemination of methods for 1) analysing sociodemographic and geographical variations in burdens of specific cancer diseases and 2) evaluation designs of targeted interventions aimed to improve early cancer detection.
By register-based studies, the researcher shall bring to the fore new empirical knowledge for rational targeting of preventive efforts. Focus shall lie on creating an empirical basis for targeted interventions aimed at reducing the burden of liver cancer in Sweden. The work tasks will include responsibility for: 1) applications to seek ethical approvals, 2) collection of data from Swedish registries, 3) data management, 4) statistical analyses, 5) scientific reporting, and 6) activities to spread the achieved results to actors in the Swedish health care system.

6. Postdoctoral Job
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
Climate change is a reality that can no longer be denied. Coastal cities around the world must prepare for sea level rise and catastrophic flooding during storms. And *you* can help! In the first part of this project, funded by FORMAS, we determined using machine learning that the main drivers of present-day sea level variability around Northern Europe were the local winds. In the second part, also supported by FORMAS, using an ensemble of climate model projections and various downscaling methods, you will determine the future winds around northern Europe; how and why their extremes have changed and will change; and use their relationship with sea level to project flooding risks.
Application Deadline: 20 May 2024
7. Postdoctoral Job
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The overarching goal of the project is to construct a multimodal NLP system that uses text and visual input alongside large language models to assure text coherence over long documents and long sentence contexts. We will experiment with crowdsourcing methods to annotate training and test corpora. Our end goal is to build a system that will be lightweight in that it will use relatively small amounts of data for supervised learning. It should be trainable in a comparatively short period of time. We will build this system on top of existing generic, open-source deep learning models rather than constructing a large, complex special purpose device.
