7. Postdoctoral Research Associate

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Campus for Research Excellence and Technological Enterprise (CREATE) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow. We are looking for a talented and creative postdoctoral research fellow to support the C4T research team. Primarily, we are looking for an individual dedicated to heterogeneous catalysis, thermochemical reaction engineering with some experience in using advanced in situ and operando characterization techniques to probe the structure of catalyst active sites under working conditions and catalytic mechanisms. The project aims to develop reaction engineering approaches to tackle technical problems associated with the conversion of greenhouse gases, in particular CO2 and methane, to useful chemicals.

8. Postdoctoral Research Associate

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

Two postdoc positions are available in the laboratory of cell biology and molecular neuroscience at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine), a joint medical school between Imperial College London and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. The demographic shift caused by population ageing is rapidly increasing the burden of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Making matters worse, there is still no cure for any neurodegenerative disease despite decades of research. Thus, identifying new therapeutic targets for combatting these diseases is an urgent need for our societies. Importantly, neurodegeneration and age-associated decline in cognitive function are often associated with changes in the lipid composition of neurons.

10. Postdoctoral Research Fellow Positions

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

We are seeking a creative, independent, and enthusiastic post-doctoral researcher to investigate mechanisms of bacterial competition notably during infection. The candidate will work with an integrated team of microbiologists, biochemists, cell biologists, and clinicians to define the mechanisms by which Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a Gram-negative pathogen, assembles and uses the type VI secretion system to simultaneously outcompete the microbiota, notably Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacterial population, and manipulate host cells response. The project will include standard microbiological techniques, fluorescence microscopy, bacterial genetics, transposon-based screens, cell-based infection, and analysis of changes in bacterial and host gene expression.

11. Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

We are seeking a creative, independent, and enthusiastic post-doctoral researcher to investigate mechanisms of bacterial signaling and communication during lifestyle transition between planktonic and biofilm, notably during infection. The candidate will work with an integrated team of microbiologists, biochemists, cell biologists, and clinicians to define the mechanisms by which Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a Gram-negative pathogen, triggers a multitude of phenotypic adaptation, including motility, attachment, or exopolysaccharide matrix production. The biofilm transition results in an antibiotic tolerant bacterial community. One key second messenger involves in this adaptive process is c-di-GMP. P. aeruginosa involves dozens of makers (diguanylate cyclase, DGC) or breakers (phosphodiesterase, PDE) to modulate the intracellular concentration so that at high c-di-GMP level the biofilm forms.
