Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a highly motivated Post-Doctoral Fellow for the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology within the School of Public Health. The postdoc will work under the direct supervision of Dr. Stefania Papatheodorou, Associate Professor, in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology to examine the impact of climate change, air pollution and socioeconomic environment on pregnancy and child health using administrative databases (e.g., medical claims, birth registries and electronic health records). The postdoc will be responsible for research activities such as developing study protocols, conducting data analysis, presenting at scientific meetings, and writing manuscripts. There will also be opportunities to develop new projects through grant writing. Applicants should have the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Department of Microbiology, Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics within the New Jersey Medical School. Our goal is to characterize putative ER-shaping proteins of Plasmodium, their functions in the parasite’s cell biology and their effect on parasite virulence. We use tools of molecular genetics (gene knockouts, conditional protein depletion, CRISPR editing), imaging (confocal and super- resolution microscopy) and proteomics in P. berghei and P. falciparum. Candidates should have peer- reviewed publications, training in cell biology, imaging, and molecular genetics. Experience in parasite biology is desirable. Although previous experience with animal handling is not a requirement, the successful candidate will be expected to take a leadership role in our animal studies after an initial training period. The Rutgers University Department of Physics and Astronomy invites applications for a postdoctoral research position. The position is to be offered jointly with the Center for Computational Astrophysics (CCA) at the Simons Foundation Flatiron Institute in New York City. The successful applicant will work under the guidance of Professor Blakesley Burkhart and contribute to a research program on star formation, galaxy formation, the interstellar medium and fluid dynamics.
