1. Postdoc in sustainable and functional food packaging

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

As postdoctoral researcher you will participate in the bioprocess design and development for the extraction of valuable compounds from food lost as additives in food packaging applications. The functionalities of the target compounds should increase the shelf life of the food to reduce food waste at the end of the value chain (e.g. antioxidant, antimicrobial or mechanical improvement of the packaging formulations). You will investigate the extraction and downstream processes for the obtention of bio-additive and the verification of its properties towards the specific applications. The approach will include the use of green extraction processes, analytical characterization of active compounds and characterization of the material properties for food packaging.

2. Postdoc in Cyber resilience and security for energy systems

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The energy system is changing, and the need for electricity and other environmentally friendly forms of energy will increase in Sweden and the rest of Europe. As the complexity and sectoral coupling of the energy system increases, the frequency of unexpected events will increase at the same time as the inertia in the electricity system is decreasing. In addition, increased digitization leads to the energy system being highly exposed to the risk of cyber attacks. There is a great need among authorities, TSOs, and DSOs to create an increased understanding of the holistic vulnerability and possible protection measures in the integrated energy systems of the future. We are now looking for a Postdoc for the project REDISET. The Postdoc will help the project managers with project management.

10. Postdoc in microchip-based exosome sensor

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

Despite significant advancements in targeted or immune therapies, the survival rate of lung cancer continues to be low. This is largely a consequence of intrinsic or acquired resistance to a given treatment calling for a different treatment or medication approach. Thus, monitoring treatment responses by non-invasive methods, i.e. following the tumour in liquid biopsies, can significantly improve the outcome by providing the necessary feedback to the clinical decision point. During the past decade, tumour-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) or exosomes have emerged as a potent source of such biomarkers. This project aims to validate a novel microchip-based technology for such analyses using clinical samples.

22. Postdoc in Robust Learning of Probabilistic Deep Dynamic Models

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The goal of this project is to develop new principles and methods for dynamical systems modeling, based on neural networks. Deep neural networks can help to model complex probability distributions (e.g., variational autoencoders, generative adversarial models) that are explicit in nature, allowing us to compute the likelihood of data as well as sample distributions efficiently. The use of explicit distributions will also allow us to exploit Bayesian learning principles. Such dynamical systems can provide efficient detection / estimation / processing of the underlying signal of interest. In addition, the processing and learning will be robust to noise.
