We seek an ambitious and highly motivated candidate looking to gain training in leadership, scientific writing, and experimental skills necessary to excel in a scientific career in industry or academia. The post-doctoral fellow will lead projects under the general guidance of the PI to make significant and creative contributions to basic and translational research related to prostate cancer. The fellow will conduct studies investigating potential prostate cancer therapeutic targets. Studies will utilize genetic and chemical genetic approaches in vitro and in various preclinical mouse models to assess therapeutic potential of targets. The fellow will be expected to mentor graduate students and junior lab members. The fellow is expected to interact with basic scientists, oncologists, medicinal chemists, bioinformaticians, pathologists, and other researchers in a highly collaborative environment to move the projects forward.

Dr. Sudha Shenoy’s laboratory is seeking a recent PhD graduate interested in the study of signaling and trafficking of seven-transmembrane/G-protein-coupled receptors (7TMR/GPCRs). 7TMRs/GPCRs are the largest and most diverse class of signaling receptors in the mammalian genome and the target of nearly half the drugs currently in use. We are interested in the regulation of 7TMRs by deubiquitinases, especially in the context of cardiomyocyte death during chronic pressure overload. Candidate who is highly motivated and shares a vision of excellence and commitment to research with a recent PhD in Pharmacology, Cell Biology or related discipline is preferred. Prior experience with mouse models is also preferred.
